This week has not been great… My Grandpa passed away. Although he was old (almost 95) It is still sad to see him go. Just 4 1/2 months ago my Granny died so as sad as it is for me it’s even more so for my mom to have lost both of her parents in such a short time. On Sunday it would have been my grandparents 74th Wedding Anniversary! Isn’t that amazing.

Iris also lost her sweet Alice the guinea pig.. She died very very suddenly, fine one moment and then she said started breathing really fast and Iris screamed by the time I saw her she had died. I am not sure at all what happened. She was perfectly healthy happy and had no prior signs of anything wrong.
One more sad thing and then a cute dress I swear!
My Stella bee is ALLERGIC TO BEES! A trip to the urgent care and 3 prescriptions later she’s doing much better!
Since the week has been so sad/stressful I decided I needed a bit of a break to make something for my Iris to cheer her up. I made a simple shirred dress and added some cute cap sleeves. It was so much fun to use up a little of my Mendocino and it looks soo cute on her. Also isnt that desk awesome ;-) I will have to use it for a picture somewhere other than in my teeny yard but we love it!

So sorry to hear of the loss of your grandpa. And such other crapiness to go along with it. Didn't you say you're a Taurus just like me? Maybe it was it our stars to have all this garbage happening lately. Well anyways Iris lookings stunning in that beautiful dress you whipped up. I need to get sewing some dresses too. Here's to a better second half of July!!
That is an awful week. I hope everyone is doing better and that tonight went well. I love the dress you made Iris the colors are perfect on her. Did you put the hexagon flower on it?

Is July over yet? We all need some fun to cheer us up! So sorry to hear about your Grandpa. What an amazing run they had - what long lives! All your wonderful memories and photos are such a tribute. Poor Iris with her pet and Stella with the bees. Ellie is allergic as well, scary stuff.
Love the dress and what a great idea to de-funk. I will get busy. Happy this month is almost over!
